Serenity Expectation Management Guidelines (EMGs)

(thanks to fajitas for permission to link here)

Excerpts from his post:

"I've thought long and hard about whether or not to post this. Obviously, I've concluded that I should, because I think these are things I might have wanted to know. I know that a bunch of you are off to see the sneak preview of Serenity on Thursday. I thought I would provide a few of the following Expectation Management Guidelines (EMGs).

"Let me be clear-- these EMGs are not spoilers. Not really. They have nothing to do with the plot or story or what happens. They're mostly the differences between what the movie is and what I might have expected it to be based on the series. Because there are discrepancies that I found a little distracting; things that my brain got caught up on because they weren't quite what I was expecting."

"So I offer these EMGs to you so that you can go in being aware of them, so that you won't get caught up on them, so you can accept them at face value, and move on with enjoying the two-hours of kick-ass cinema that is Serenity (And also because writing this entry means I can continue to avoid doing actual work, which, as we all know, causes gout, brain hemorrhages, and hair-loss)."

(Note that if you follow the link, his thoughtfully placed cut won't protect you, because it goes straight to the full article. So be sure that's what you want to do before you click.)
